Felix – Our new AI assistant
Talus is pleased to announce that phase 1 of our AI platform has been added to Exploration Archives Desktop version 4.5. It has gone through round 1 testing at Talus and is now moving into phase 2 testing with client data. The new AI assistant, Felix, has been added to the existing Smart Parse tool.
If you’re not familiar with Smart Parse, it is a tool in Catalog that allows you to parse out the file name and path to look for key words such as file category, sub-category, media barcode and line/survey name. We have now automated this tool using machine learning algorithms. Felix will look for patterns in the file path and name, determining the file category and sub-category and potential media and seismic links.
During the 4.5 upgrade, your Talus deployment team will train Felix on already cataloged data. Using this training, Felix will extract key information and provide you with his results in Smart Parse. You will have a chance to review Felix’s decisions, including how confident the algorithm is on a match, and correct anything where needed. This user feedback will further train Felix, resulting in even more accurate matches.
We have big plans for Felix – including reading and extracting information from SegY EBCDICs. Stay tuned as we analyze our results on client data and expand our assistant to make cataloging quick and easy.
